Caroline Lizotte

A brilliant Quebec harpist and composer, Caroline Lizotte is internationally recognized for her contribution to the harp repertoire. Her works, often awarded and imposed in competitions, are played and recorded by harpists around the world and are listed among the most influential of the late 20th and 21st century for the instrument. She is regularly invited to perform at the triennial events of the World Harp Congress.

Having led a solid career as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral musician for more than thirty years, namely as second harp at the OSM for 23 years, Caroline Lizotte devotes herself to sharing her art through her creations, editions, concerts, mentoring and by the complete recording of his works. Her first album Lizotte Plays Lizotte is a compilation of her greatest works written for the harp from 1990 to the present day.

An Associate Composer of the Canadian Music Center, Caroline Lizotte founded les éditions Calyane in 1999 and RougébLeuë Productions in 2015. She is also a member and co-founder of the Four Seasons Harp Quartet. Caroline Lizotte is the professor of harp at the Université de Montréal’s Music Faculty since 2010.
