Ici, Grogg choisit de puiser dans quatre m\u00e9lodies de compositeurs c\u00e9l\u00e8bres : Orlando Gibbons (<i>Le Cygne d\u2019Argent<\/i>), Jean Sibelius (<i>Le Cygne de Tuonela<\/i>), Samuel Barber (<i>Un Cygne<\/i>, tir\u00e9 des <i>M\u00e9lodies passag\u00e8res<\/i>, opus 27) et Camille Saint-Sa\u00ebns (<i>Le Cygne<\/i>, tir\u00e9 du <i>Carnaval des animaux<\/i>). Au c\u0153ur de l\u2019inspiration de Grogg, cette derni\u00e8re m\u00e9lodie de Saint-Sa\u00ebns est d\u2019ailleurs la toute premi\u00e8re pi\u00e8ce ayant uni le duo de musiciens figurant sur cet album. Cette pi\u00e8ce au titre atypique d\u00e9montre le passage sans transition entre les Cygnes, \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re de <i>D\u2019un ch\u00e2teau l\u2019autre<\/i> de Louis-Ferdinand C\u00e9line. L\u2019\u0153uvre trace les pas du cygne d\u00e8s le XVII<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle, avec le madrigal de Gibbons, se m\u00e9tamorphosant doucement vers Sibelius, dont la ligne chantante du cor anglais se ficelle ici au violoncelle.
