Val\u00e9rie Milot et St\u00e9phane T\u00e9treault, deux piliers de la sc\u00e8ne classique qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise, prouvent le contraire avec Transfiguration, programme audacieux sorti r\u00e9cemment chez ATMA, pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 \u00e0 la salle Bourgie les mercredi 25 et jeudi 26 mai.<\/p><p>\u00ab On l\u2019a appel\u00e9 <em>Transfiguration<\/em>\u00a0parce que c\u2019est un peu l\u2019exp\u00e9rience que le spectateur peut avoir en \u00e9coutant de la musique en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, mais surtout \u00e0 cause du fait que dans ce projet, on peut vivre une certaine m\u00e9tamorphose, tant par les diff\u00e9rents th\u00e8mes et variations que par l\u2019utilisation des harmonies et par le contexte historique et visuel\u00a0\u00bb, d\u00e9taille le violoncelliste St\u00e9phane T\u00e9treault, qu\u2019on a entre autres pu entendre en solo avec I Musici l\u2019hiver dernier.<\/p><p>Car il y en a autant pour l\u2019oreille que pour les yeux dans ce programme principalement compos\u00e9 d\u2019\u0153uvres contemporaines que les deux artistes qualifient de \u00ab\u00a0concert-exp\u00e9rience\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p><p>\u00ab\u00a0On ne se cachera pas que jouer de la musique contemporaine, \u00e7a peut effrayer certains diffuseurs, conc\u00e8de la harpiste Val\u00e9rie Milot. Mais les gens en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral embarquent beaucoup et sont pas mal interpell\u00e9s. C\u2019est de la musique qui est tr\u00e8s vivante, qui implique beaucoup l\u2019auditeur. La petite couche de visuel qu\u2019on ajoute, c\u2019est juste pour d\u00e9velopper encore plus l\u2019engagement du public.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p><h4><strong>La mise en sc\u00e8ne et les projections con\u00e7ues par les jeunes musiciens et leurs collaborateurs viennent appuyer la musique sans s\u2019y substituer.<\/strong><\/h4><p>\u00ab\u00a0C\u2019est important que \u00e7a ajoute quelque chose aux \u0153uvres, mais que \u00e7a ne devienne pas si imposant qu\u2019on perde le fil, conc\u00e8de St\u00e9phane T\u00e9treault. M\u00eame si on enl\u00e8ve les projections et tout, \u00e7a reste une musique qui parle beaucoup et qui raconte une histoire.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p><p>\u00ab\u00a0C\u2019est une sorte d\u2019illustration de notre amiti\u00e9 et de notre collaboration \u00e0 travers les 10\u00a0derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, et aussi de la mani\u00e8re dont deux personnes peuvent s\u2019apprivoiser \u00e0 travers la musique et la vie de tous les jours\u00a0\u00bb, pr\u00e9cise le violoncelliste.<\/p><p>\u00ab\u00a0C\u2019est un peu l\u2019apoth\u00e9ose de notre collaboration, poursuit ce dernier. On a commenc\u00e9 lors d\u2019un lancement de disque o\u00f9 on nous a jumel\u00e9s et, finalement, on a fait beaucoup de concerts en duo et en trio. En 2019, on a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 faire un gros brainstorm. Et trois ans plus tard, on a le plaisir de la pr\u00e9senter au public.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p><p>Mais le r\u00e9pertoire pour harpe et violoncelle ne court pas les rues.<\/p><h4><strong>Deux solutions s\u2019offraient alors au duo\u00a0: la transcription ou la cr\u00e9ation. Avec un fil conducteur\u00a0: pas question de consid\u00e9rer le violoncelle comme un instrument solo accompagn\u00e9 par la harpe. Le duo Milot-T\u00e9treault r\u00e9unit deux partenaires \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re.<\/strong><\/h4><p>Seule concession au r\u00e9pertoire traditionnel\u00a0: l\u2019incontournable\u00a0<em>Cygne<\/em>\u00a0tir\u00e9 du\u00a0<em>Carnaval des animaux<\/em>\u00a0de Saint-Sa\u00ebns, qui est l\u2019occasion d\u2019un commentaire musical du compositeur qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois Alexandre Grogg,\u00a0<em>D\u2019un cygne l\u2019autre<\/em>, qui \u00e9voque aussi Gibbons, Sibelius et Barber.<\/p><p>C\u2019est une autre \u0153uvre de Grogg qui ouvre le disque, les\u00a0<em>Trois variations sur La Folia<\/em>, originellement \u00e9crite pour ensemble jazz. Un contact que cette derni\u00e8re a trouv\u00e9 tout simplement \u00ab\u00a0trippant\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p><p>\u00ab\u00a0On peut davantage aiguiller ses interpr\u00e9tations en travaillant avec un compositeur\u00a0\u00bb, raconte celle qui enseigne au Conservatoire de musique, ajoutant que sa propre activit\u00e9 de p\u00e9dagogue s\u2019en trouve renforc\u00e9e. \u00ab\u00a0\u00c7a m\u2019a fait beaucoup r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir \u00e0 comment on aborde des \u0153uvres historiques.
