reprennent <b>jeudi, 10 novembre, au th\u00e9\u00e2tre Maisonneuve<\/b>, leur spectacle immersif <i>Transfiguration<\/i>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ledevoir.com\/culture\/musique\/715464\/critique-concert-milot-tetreault-la-judicieuse-creativite\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>qui nous avait s\u00e9duit<\/u><\/a> lors de sa cr\u00e9ation en mai dernier \u00e0 la salle Bourgie. Le d\u00e9fi pour les deux jeunes artistes est de repenser le rituel du concert classique \u00e0 travers un environnement num\u00e9rique cin\u00e9matographique, tout en affrontant la nouvelle r\u00e9alit\u00e9 des musiciens classiques.\n\n\u00ab St\u00e9phane et moi fonctionnons beaucoup comme des artistes entrepreneurs \u00bb, nous dit Val\u00e9rie Milot, qui attribue le succ\u00e8s de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ledevoir.com\/culture\/musique\/713262\/musique-classique-transfiguration-valerie-milot-et-stephane-tetreault\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i><u>Transfiguration<\/u><\/i><\/a> \u00e0 cette dynamique.\n\n\u00ab Avant m\u00eame la premi\u00e8re du spectacle, nous avions une douzaine de dates pour une tourn\u00e9e qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise cet \u00e9t\u00e9. C\u2019\u00e9tait notre but : le Qu\u00e9bec pour la premi\u00e8re saison, le march\u00e9 canadien et international par la suite \u00bb, souligne St\u00e9phane T\u00e9treault, heureux de la confiance des diffuseurs qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois.\n\nEntre l\u2019id\u00e9e et la cr\u00e9ation du spectacle, il y a eu trois ann\u00e9es, dont un an et demi de travail intense de r\u00e9alisation. \u00ab Nous avons eu de la chance d\u2019avoir du financement public et priv\u00e9, mais pour deux artistes comme nous, c\u2019est colossal de se lancer dans un tel projet \u00bb, r\u00e9sume Val\u00e9rie Milot. \u00ab Il n\u2019y a pas beaucoup de monde avec qui j\u2019aurais partag\u00e9 cette aventure : c\u2019est beaucoup d\u2019organisation et de stress, mais nous avons r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser ce que nous voulions faire \u00bb, dit-elle, r\u00e9jouie.\n<h4>Le nouveau statut de l\u2019artiste<\/h4>\n<i>Transfiguration<\/i> r\u00e9pond \u00e0 de nombreuses interrogations qui touchent le milieu de la musique classique. L\u2019une des perspectives abord\u00e9es par Val\u00e9rie Milot est celle-ci : qu\u2019est-ce qu\u2019un artiste devrait \u00eatre aujourd\u2019hui ? \u00ab L\u2019artiste qui peut simplement jouer de son instrument et faire des concerts va devenir une denr\u00e9e tr\u00e8s rare, estime la harpiste. Il y a eu une r\u00e9volution \u00e0 de nombreux niveaux. Il n\u2019y a pas si longtemps, on pouvait gagner sa vie en faisant des disques ; maintenant, il faut payer pour en enregistrer. Il n\u2019y a pas si longtemps, un pianiste pouvait faire carri\u00e8re en jouant quelques concertos ; aujourd\u2019hui, il lui faut jouer des cr\u00e9ations et changer fr\u00e9quemment de r\u00e9pertoire. \u00bb\n\n\u00c9videmment, la discussion avec Val\u00e9rie Milot et St\u00e9phane T\u00e9treault nous am\u00e8ne aussi aux changements rapides et radicaux induits par les r\u00e9seaux sociaux. \u00ab Les choses reposent davantage sur la personnalit\u00e9 de l\u2019artiste. On va aller voir tel artiste par attachement. Par ricochet, le r\u00f4le des agences et la mani\u00e8re de g\u00e9rer la carri\u00e8re d\u2019un artiste ont chang\u00e9 apr\u00e8s la pand\u00e9mie \u00bb, note Val\u00e9rie.\n\nSt\u00e9phane T\u00e9treault observe avec amertume le d\u00e9fi de d\u00e9velopper une carri\u00e8re \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger. \u00ab J\u2019ai vu l\u2019\u00e9lan avant 2020, puis la pand\u00e9mie a mis un terme \u00e0 cela. C\u2019est un d\u00e9fi de relancer la machine. \u00bb\n\n\u00ab Ceux qui sont rest\u00e9s sont ceux qui \u00e9taient bien organis\u00e9s, constate Val\u00e9rie Milot. St\u00e9phane et moi travaillons ensemble, produisons les choses ensemble, allons de l\u2019avant. Cela nous a sauv\u00e9s. Nous avons con\u00e7u des projets, les avons adapt\u00e9s. C\u2019est devenu presque essentiel de s\u2019impliquer dans son d\u00e9veloppement, son image de marque. Ces choses qui peuvent para\u00eetre superficielles font que l\u2019on va durer ou pas, laisser une marque ou pas. \u00bb\n\nDans cette analyse, Val\u00e9rie Milot se place non seulement en tant qu\u2019artiste dans un march\u00e9 comp\u00e9titif, mais aussi dans une proposition, la musique classique, qui, au sein de l\u2019offre culturelle, a du mal \u00e0 tirer son \u00e9pingle du jeu. \u00c9merge une nouvelle fois la question de l\u2019\u00e9ducation, g\u00e9n\u00e9ratrice du public futur : \u00ab Si la culture g\u00e9n\u00e9rale baisse, cela va avoir une cons\u00e9quence sur l\u2019achalandage des salles de concert. \u00bb\n<h4>Courage musical et nouvel outil<\/h4>\nPour rameuter du monde, il y a une solution aussi simple que funeste : la compromission artistique. Car, quand on sert de la soupe, on trouve toujours du monde pour tendre la gamelle. Mais nous sommes ici dans le registre du courage et de l\u2019int\u00e9grit\u00e9. \u00ab Notre approche a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e8s le d\u00e9part de ne pas d\u00e9naturer le concert de musique classique. Nous ne voulions pas aller dans le <i>crossover<\/i>. M\u00eame en ce qui concerne l\u2019approche sonore : nous avons travaill\u00e9 au niveau des micros, des pr\u00e9amplificateurs, pour reproduire le mieux possible dans une salle multidisciplinaire ce qu\u2019on pourrait entendre dans une tr\u00e8s bonne salle acoustique \u00bb, souligne Val\u00e9rie Milot.\n\nLa rigueur morale de ce choix est d\u2019autant plus salutaire que <i>Transfiguration<\/i> repose sur des musiques de compositeurs canadiens et qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois vivants. St\u00e9phane T\u00e9treault en est bien conscient : \u00ab Les personnes qui ont l\u2019habitude de venir aux concerts de musique classique ont \u00e9t\u00e9 saisies par cette nouvelle fa\u00e7on de faire et des personnes moins habitu\u00e9es ont appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 l\u2019exp\u00e9rience. Ce dont nous sommes fiers, c\u2019est de pr\u00e9senter de la musique canadienne et qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise. Cela aurait pu \u00eatre intimidant, mais dans ce cadre, on observe l\u2019effet contraire, m\u00eame si <i>Double-monologue<\/i> de Fran\u00e7ois Valli\u00e8res, au d\u00e9but, peut saisir. \u00bb\n\nVal\u00e9rie et St\u00e9phane ont aussi voulu d\u00e9velopper un outil en parall\u00e8le, un programme interactif consultable sur les t\u00e9l\u00e9phones cellulaires. \u00ab L\u2019id\u00e9e est de ne pas avoir un programme papier, mais un programme \u00e9cologique qui suit en direct le d\u00e9roulement du spectacle, explique St\u00e9phane T\u00e9treault.
