François Vallières

A graduate of the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and Houston’s Rice University, François Vallières is the violist of the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne and a member of the Orchestre Classique de Montréal. A versatile musician, he regularly performs with various ensembles, namely the Orchestre Métropolitain, I Musici de Montréal, Les Violons du Roy, and the Symphony Orchestras of Québec, Trois-Rivières, Longueuil, Laval, and Drummondville.

A highly in-demand copyist, orchestrator and arranger, he was named Arranger of the Year at the 2013 ADISQ Gala.

His works have been played by many artists, including Patrice Michaud, Ingrid St-Pierre, Daniel Lavoie, Cœur de Pirate, Jean-Pierre Ferland, Jorane, Pascale Picard, Bruno Pelletier, and with various ensembles, such as the Orchestre Classique de Montréal, Les Violons du Roy, the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, the Quartets esca et Molinari, the Buzz Brass Quintet, and Angèle Dubeau & La Pietà.
